1936
Joseph Wright, a Chemist, qualifies as an optician and opens the Practice in Portsmouth Road. Joseph [Joe] Wright is a well-respected Methodist Sunday-School Teacher and Lay Preacher.
1949

Joe Wright retires and the Practice passes to Leslie Sefton also a Chemist and Optician, Leslie Sefton is an Honours Graduate in optics

1976
Leslie Sefton retires and the Practice passes to Desmond Hilton-Childs & Brian Sefton. Brian Sefton was in partnership with Desmond after several years as a Contact Lens Practitioner and college Visiting Tutor in the speciality.
1982

Desmond Hilton-Childs retires.
Brian Sefton becomes sole partner.

1997
The Practice administers Hampshire Local Optical Committee’s pilot Low Vision scheme for blind and partially sighted patients across Hampshire.
2005

AnnMarie McCallum joined the practice bringing her Optical Dispensing skills from the former EJ Tomes, Victoria Road Opticians.
Optometrist James King commences sessions at the Practice.

2006
The practice celebrates its 75th anniversary.
2015
James King retires. Optometrists Kevin & Katherine Oxlade commence sessions at the Practice. Kevin specialises in the care of blind and partially sighted patients at Southampton General Hospital’s Eye Unit. Contact Lens fitting sessions covered by Optometrist Kitty Law.
2016
Brian Sefton retires and remains a close affiliate to the practice. The practice is transferred to London trained Optometrist Mr. Patel.
